Sonic The Hedgehog Review
Sonic The Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis was Sega's attempt to prove to the gaming world that not only could the make platforming games as well as their arch rival Nintendo, Sega could make these types of games better than Nintendo could. While this argument is debatable, what is clear is that Sonic The Hedgehog certainly took platform gaming to new and unexplored heights when first released.

A look back at Earthbound for the SNES
Earthbound for the SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) was the first major foray into the world of RPG gaming for the console. While RPG's were at that time, and still are today, wildly popular, most required a level of involvement that casual gamers were unwilling to give. Earthbound is notable for its casual and humorous gameplay and for having a timeline which places the game in the modern era, as opposed to the fictional mythic past that most RPG games are set in.

Pokemon Red for the original Game Boy
Pokemon Red pushed the Game Boy to its limits when first released for Nintendo's original portable game system. Never before had such a unique game, with such diversity of action and outcomes been released for any game system, let alone a portable one.
