Best NES Games of All-Time
One of the most popular, if not the most popular, gaming system of its day was the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) from Nintendo. Players anticipated the future as game developers worked hard to best their previous programming achievements. A quick glance at any NES game cartridge transports many back to the golden days of gaming. Here are some of the best NES games of all times.
Super Mario Bros: Probably the most popular and best selling franchise of all time, Super Mario Bros. really catapulted gaming to the next level. The graphics were a step above anything else that graced a console system at the time, and most gamers have very fond memories of playing this game. Not only was the original Super Mario Bros. captivating, but the 2 sequels that followed were achieved great success too.
Mike Tyson's Punch Out: At the time, Mike Tyson's Punch Out was the closest thing you could get to real boxing action. I remember playing this game over and over, memorizing all the opponents specials moves so I would know exactly when I would need to duck and dodge before giving them the knockout blow.
Tecmo Bowl: I remember football battles late into the night when Tecmo Bowl came out. Every Friday night I would get the snacks and invite the other neighborhood kids over for the Tecmo Bowl Battle. Remember, never run in a straight line.
The Legend of Zelda: Besides Super Mario Bros, the Legend of Zelda is probably the face of Nintendo. This series has stayed in current popular culture with a hit game on pretty much every console system to date. I remember sitting in class and drawing Link on my notebooks, anticipating my school bus ride home so I could continue playing.
As video games today strive to be more realistic and push the limits of technology, NES games will always hold a place in our hearts. True gamers understand the significance of the past and keep the memories of these games living on.
